Discussion: This is a nice phonological anticipation. The [l] from 'lexical' was anticipated and added to the onset of the first syllable of 'empty'. I stopped at that point, knowing I'd made the error.
What's an 'empty lexical item? It's a word that you know exists, and you know more or less what category it belongs to, but yu have no idea what it actually means. For me, some color words ike 'tope', 'periwinkle' and glaucous are empty lexical categories. For other people, some names of car parts, spices, fish or grains might qualify.
